Fischbach is a district of the municipality of Arnsdorf in the Bautzen district in Saxony. The formerly independent village was incorporated into the municipality of Arnsdorf in 1999.
Fischbach was probably founded by Franconian farmers during the east colonization, probably as early as the 12th century. However, it is first mentioned by name on May 7, 1241, in the Upper Lusatian border document.
Since ancient times, three very important traffic routes have passed through Fischbach. These were the Dresden-Bautzen country road, called Budissiner Straße, the old Bohemian glass or salt road from Halle to Bohemia via Schluckenau, and the postal road from Pirna to Kamenz.
