We are subletting our furnished apartment from September 2026 to January 2027. The rent agreement can most likely be turned from a sublease to a full indefinite lease agreement in January 2027.
Our apartment on the Engelbecken spans approximately 110 sqm. It comprises an open-plan living, kitchen, and dining area; a bedroom of approximately 14 sqm; an office/guest room of approximately 17 sqm; a bathroom with both a shower and a bathtub; and a separate guest WC. Parquet flooring runs throughout all the rooms, while the hallway and bathroom feature dark, high-quality tiles.
The apartment has two balconies. The first, a square balcony off the main living area, faces the water and gets morning sun. The second connects the bedroom and office/guest room, overlooks the large, green courtyard, and gets sun in the afternoon and evening.
The location is extremely central. Oranienplatz is just around the corner, and the U-Bahn stations Moritzplatz and Kottbusser Tor are both five minutes away on foot. The immediate area offers numerous Pilates and yoga studios, EVO Gym, and a Denn's, Edeka, and Rossmann all close by. Ostbahnhof is five minutes away by scooter, and thanks to the new motorway link, the airport is roughly 25 to 30 minutes away by car. Street parking is almost always available right outside the building.
The apartment has an unobstructed view over the Engelbecken basin and the adjoining park. In the mornings, sunlight streams through the large window front into the living area, a room that is generously proportioned, open, and exceptionally bright, and we often walk down to the water nearby. In the evenings, we enjoy the sun and the quiet, green courtyard, where we often sit outside to eat or grill, feeling remarkably removed from the city despite being right in its centre. What we love most about this apartment is the quality of light at every hour, its sense of spaciousness, the tranquillity, the two balconies, and the view over the Engelbecken.
