Neustadt is one of the most interesting areas of the city and is considered a lively and vibrant district. It consists of the Inner Neustadt, which actually represents the right bank district, and the Outer Neustadt with Antonstadt, Radeberger Vorstadt, as well as the former military area of Albertstadt, now used as an office and administration complex. The area of the Outer Neustadt is therefore to be considered a mixed-use area. More than half of the residents have moved in only in recent years. Many trendsetters, especially younger families, have settled in the Inner Neustadt, which has been largely extensively renovated to date. In this area, a closed construction style of multi-family houses predominates. The Prussian Quarter, located on the northern bank of the Elbe, is almost exclusively characterized by an open construction style with villas and villa-like multi-family houses. Numerous events such as the summer highlight of the Dresden Film Nights on the immediately adjacent Elbe bank, as well as a variety of small shops and pubs like the well-known Brauhaus Waldschlösschen, enrich the cultural offerings of Neustadt. Along the Elbe and the Elbe cycle path, many excursions can be undertaken.
