The relatively small district of Forstfeld is situated on the southeastern city border between the districts of Bettenhausen and Waldau. The dominant residential building type in the settlement areas developed since the 1930s is the single-family and two-family house with garden property. Only in the Heinrich-Steul settlement, built in the 1970s, can multi-storey rental apartment buildings be found.
Along Leipziger Straße, the main traffic artery running through the northern part of the district, there are service providers and retailers. It is also the direct connection to the city center or the highway.
In Forstbachweg, which runs through the districts of Forstfeld and Lindenberg, there is still a small and fine local center with public facilities for children and youth and offers sufficient shopping opportunities. Here and around the Lindenberg senior residence, there are green areas for walking and relaxing.
