The former Park Hospital was planned by Hugo Licht at the end of the 19th to the beginning of the 20th century and built by Otto Wilhelm Scharenberg. Subsequently, the sanatorium was taken over by the Royal Saxon State in 1913 and was thereafter called "Royal State Healing and Care Institution Leipzig-Dösen." In the course of the district founding of the GDR, the clinic returned to the ownership of the city of Leipzig in 1952. In 1999, the Park Hospital was taken over by the Rhön Clinic and relocated to a new building in the Leipzig-Probstheida district in 2002. Since then, the existing buildings and the site have no longer been used as a clinic area.
The 14-hectare site connects the past with modern living comfort after extensive renovation with its 18 new buildings and 20 old buildings. Characteristic are especially the imposing clinker facades with ornamentation as well as the tall sash windows of the old buildings. The listed buildings count
