Until 2021, the so-called Sisters' Residence for members of the DRK-Schwesternschaft Hamburg e.V. was located on Hamburger Bebelallee. Now, on a gross floor area of 6,300 sqm, a new complex with various forms of housing is being created with a total of 70 apartments, including for Red Cross nurses and trainees in care, people with support and care needs, as well as interested parties. The quarter includes a meeting place with contacts for the service area as well as a day care facility.

In addition to the housing offer, the DRK-Schwesternschaft Hamburg e.V. offers day care for up to 20 guests in atmospherically beautifully designed rooms and attractively designed outdoor areas after completion.

The outpatient care and counseling service completes the offer of comprehensive care upon request. A spacious meeting place as a venue for diverse activities and community gatherings as well as exchange, gladly also with the neighborhood, is intended to make community experience tangible.

The DRK-Schwesternschaft Hamburg e.V. is one of 31 sisterhoods nationwide, all part of the worldwide Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. The community of competent, professional caregivers has existed for more than 150 years. Its tradition is characterized by mutual appreciation, sensitivity, and tolerance and lives from taking responsibility and reflection. The association directs its commitment and professionalism purposefully to promote public health care.

The barrier-reduced new apartments impress with their very good layout and optimal lighting. Large floor-to-ceiling windows and partly outdoor areas such as balconies, terraces, and roof terraces create a connection to the outside and offer views of greenery. The apartments have different orientations and, depending on their location within the floors, also different lighting and sun exposure. Thanks to the barrier-free building access and an elevator, the 70 apartments distributed over 3 entrances have been built age-appropriately. Two apartments are also wheelchair accessible.
