Kröpeliner-Tor-Vorstadt is the most popular student district in Rostock. Tram lines 1 and 5 stop at Doberaner Platz within a few minutes' walk. The University of Rostock at Universitätsplatz is about a five-minute walk. Shopping options such as Edeka, Aldi, and numerous cafés, restaurants, and bakeries are located directly in the district. The old town with Kröpeliner Straße is within walking distance.
